A Drug-Free Day in Clay: Defeating the Opioid Crisis with the Derek Hatcher Story

The mission of the Derek Hatcher Foundation is to raise awareness of substance abuse and addiction. Proceeds from this 501c3 non-profit organization go to programs that fight the disease of addiction and protect our youth from substance abuse.

Derek Hatcher was an exceptional quarterback at Ridgeview High School in Clay County, Florida from 2005-2009. After the start of a successful college football career, Derek sadly passed away from a drug overdose in his college dorm room on February 21st, 2016. Derek struggled with addiction for three years prior to his death, and during that time he began to share his story with high school football teams, rehabilitation centers and inmates within the juvenile justice system.

Event is free and open to the public.
