JACK MITCHELL GALLERY

The Jack Mitchell Gallery is named for famed Florida photographic artist Jack Mitchell. The gallery is devoted to exhibiting the best in the photographic arts. The THCA is home to a permanent collection of photographs by Jack Mitchell. Please view the informational panels located outside of the gallery to learn more about Mr Mitchell.

Monday, March 31 - Carolyn Ann Day: Photography
Carolyn Ann Day's specialty is handcolored photography - darkroom printed black and white original photographs that have been carefully colored with soft colored pencil - each image requires many hours of hand applied layers of color and black outlining.

The Lee Adams Florida Artists Gallery, located in the Mary Ward Huntley Wing, is dedicated to exhibiting Florida artists of the past and present. Named in memory of the late Lee Adams, today the gallery serves as a showplace for the diverse talent and creativity of Florida artists.

Monday, April 14 - George Spivey: American Primitive Painter
From the Maitland Arts Center in Maitland, Florida, comes this extraordinary collection. Spivey a poet and photographer, began painting at age 60. His style is reminiscent of his philosophy of life-native yet real, gentle but strong- with added good humor, design and color.

Both galleries are open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
(Thursday until 7:00 p.m.)
