Our conference center offers over 6,260 square feet of rental space encompassing six banquet rooms that are ideal for any occasion. Each room is multipurpose and perfectly suited to create any setup you envision. All room rentals include furniture setup and breakdown, various seating options, ample free parking, adjustable lighting, audiovisual and sound capability, as well as flexible catering options. Four of our rooms feature movable wall partitions allowing us to expand into larger room setups to meet any need. Our dedicated and professional on-site staff will go above and beyond to provide you with five- star service, at a fraction of the price! Whether you are planning a lecture for 400 or a brunch for 30, Thrasher-Horne Center is the perfect setting for your next event.

Meetings

You’ll find the versatility of our rooms along with audiovisual and sound capabilities as a strength to adapt to any required meeting structure, whether it is a professional luncheon setting in our grand room, a workshop and/or training session with room breakouts, or an organization’s annual business meeting. Ask about our non-profit organization discount on room rentals.

Weddings & Receptions

With a contemporary design, and beautiful chandeliers, our grand room can accommodate up to 240 guests with room for dancing. Additionally, our other banquet room is the perfect setting for your wedding ceremony. We also have several picturesque locations for photos including our grand lobby staircase, landscaped waterfall area and professional, lighted dressing rooms (other costs may apply).

Fundraising Events

The conference center is a fantastic location for fundraising events, especially with our Non-Profit rental discount. Fundraising event setups within our five banquet rooms, can include a Gala type evening in our grand room and concurrently use our other rooms for specific fundraising activities, like a silent auction.

Celebrations

For a special day or for a special someone’s day, our rental rooms are wonderful settings for any type of celebration. We host Birthday parties, Baby Showers, Special Anniversaries, Family Reunions, Graduation events and more.

Expos

Our 6,260 square feet of rental space offer the ability to configure for large numbers of exhibits and attendees. Whether the goal is to educate the public, showcase products and services, or create networking opportunities, we have the perfect room layouts to ensure a positive experience for your exhibitors and easy strolling for your attendees.

Thrasher-Horne Center offers an on-site planning staff with up to six rooms available for rent seven days a week. Rental hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., depending on scheduled events. Room capacities below are examples using typical room layouts. Your capacity may differ depending on additional equipment or setup requirements. Prices are subject to change. Nonprofit Organizations are eligible for a 20% discount on their suite fees.

All room rental fees include a custom setup of furnishings, furniture breakdown, and free parking. Each room has independently controlled sound and lighting.

To book an event please contact our staff who will coordinate/reserve your date as well as provide you with the required agreements and information.

In order to retain an event booking a signed Reservation Agreement must be received within five (5) working days of booking. The signed agreement may be mailed, faxed or emailed. Thrasher-Horne Center also requires a Lessee to pay a 50% deposit for all suite fees within five (5) working days of signed Reservation Agreement. All deposits and fees are payable by check (made to SJR State), credit card or money order. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event. If the booking is made within 30 days of the event, the entire amount is due at time of the booking. This agreement is not transferable.

Nonprofit organizations are eligible for a 20% discount on their suite fees by showing documentation provided by the Internal Revenue Service stating their status, for example, Letter 1045. Those patrons who are exempt from paying sales tax must provide a Consumer's Certificate of Exemption, Form DR-14.

On-Site Security Fee (when alcohol is served) - $20.00 per hour


Thrasher-Horne Center requires a Lessee to acquire and submit a Special Event Certificate of Liability Insurance to show they have in force bodily injury and property damage liability protection in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit and indicating St. Johns River State College as an additional insured for the date and duration of the event. Individuals or companies that do not have this insurance may purchase liability insurance directly through the University Risk Management and Insurance Association. Costs vary, depending on the category of the event.

Upon acquiring, the Lessee must deliver a copy of the Special Event Certificate of Liability Insurance to the Thrasher-Horne Center at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the event.


The conference center is available from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday. All rentals require a base minimum four (4) hour rental block, then an hourly rate is applied over the base for each additional hour based on the total contracted reservation time. Should an event exceed the contracted reservation time, the Lessee agrees to pay double the applicable hourly rate for each hour over the contracted reservation time. If an extension of the contracted reserve time is required, it must be requested in writing five (5) days prior to the event date. Additional space is subject to availability and the ability of the conference center to provide the necessary services.


Enjoy the luxury of choice when it comes to catering!

Thrasher-Horne Center works with a variety of caterers, giving you the flexibility and control as well as competitive pricing to meet your specific needs. Our recommended caterers provide a wide range of services from snacks or light hors d' oeuvres to themed dinners or award-winning barbecues. If you prefer to use your own caterer, all that is necessary is to provide a copy of their business license and a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming St. Johns River State College as an additional insured on the date of your event. In addition, you and your caterer will need to sign our Thrasher-Horne Center Catering Policy.

If alcohol is planned for your event, a copy of the appropriate liquor license and liquor liability insurance is required. You will also need to complete a Thrasher-Horne Center Alcoholic Beverages Policy Application. Upon approval, the Lessee assumes full responsibility for complying with the state of Florida's liquor laws, local ordinances and other laws and regulations as may be applicable to the event.
