Guilty or Not Guilty? You decide!
To the world, Bjorn Faulkner was a startlingly successful international tycoon, head of a vast financial empire. To his beautiful secretary-mistress, he was a god-like hero to be served with her mind, soul and body. To his aristocratic young wife, he was an elemental force of nature to be tamed. To his millionaire father-in-law, he was a giant whose single error could be used to destroy him.
On the night of January 16th, Faulkner and his mistress, Karen Andre, are in the penthouse at the top of the building when he falls to his death in what may have been a suicide. Now Karen Andre is placed on trial for the murder of Bjorn Faulkner.
This remarkable play by Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead) uses the setting of a murder trial to examine the rise and fall of a brilliant, ruthless man. But this is no ordinary courtroom drama: here, the audience are the jury and are called upon to deliver their verdict at each performance!
The Night of January 16th is a special production in partnership between Orange Park Community Theater and Thrasher-Horne Center. It was the flagship production for Orange Park Community Theater and was first performed at the Women’s Club and the Courthouse. Originally planned as part of Orange Park Community Theater’s 50th Anniversary Season, it will now be performed in the Thrasher-Horne Conference Center for additional seating and social distancing of the audience and cast.
